Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan is famous worldwide, to the general public as well as sports fans, as one of the greatest athletes of his generation. As a six-foot-six graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls basketball team in 1984. He played the position of guard for the Bulls from 1984 through 1998, with a brief hiatus to play professional baseball in 1993-94. He later played with the Washington Wizards for several years before announcing his final retirement in 2003.
Over his professional athletic career, Jordan was named Most Valuable Player five times by the National Basketball Association. The NBA also listed him one of the fifty greatest players of all time, and in 2009 he was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame. In addition, he led the United States to two Olympic victories, earned a fortune from commercial endorsements, and appeared in the movie Space Jam.
Jordan’s best-known namesake products may be his Air Jordan sneakers, but he has also made his mark on the celebrity fragrance market. His collection of men’s fragrances began with Jordan in 1996, and expanded to include Legend, Flight, 23 (a tribute to Jordan’s jersey number), and quartet of scents named Drive, Balance, Energy, and Power. Men’s skincare and scented body products round out the line.
